Handling and Basic Care
Ever wonder what your cat is thinking? Did you know cats need their teeth brushed to avoid costly dental surgeries later in life? Our Handling and Basic Care training options allow you to learn your feline’s body language and health needs, understand things which may increase their fear, and start training to ensure the scary moments aren’t so scary (like going to the Vet!!). We highly recommend our clients start with our Handling and Basic Care options to explore the essential categories you need to know for your feline’s overall well-being.
Starting at $25 per In-Home Session. Each session includes one of the below categories. Package options are available for multiple categories.
*An Initial Needs Assessment and Environment Evaluation is required prior to conducting any training sessions.
Basic Handling & Body Language
A cat communicates via body language. We explore how to understand their signals and how to make sure we are sending our love back with appropriate handling.
Household Preparations
Ready to bring your new fur friend home? Let’s review things that a cat sees by getting their perspective of your home. We will provide recommendations to ensure a seamless welcome!
Litterbox Training
Most cats will naturally gravitate towards a litterbox, however, there are types of litter and various boxes which can deter a cat from using their sacred space for their unmentionable business. Let’s prepare before the litterbox becomes a problem and review the best option for you and your household.
Carrier Acclimation
Likely one of the most significant challenges cat owners can face is placing a hissing and clawing cat into a cat carrier. Life does not have to work against you and neither does your cat. We can assist you in training your cat to enjoy their carrier as well as help you select the right carrier for your adventures.
Practice Veterinary Examinations
Ever wonder what goes through your cat’s mind when they realize they are headed to the Vet? Panic, Anxiety, Stress, Fear, and more emotions than we can fathom. Let’s learn how to practice for a Veterinary Examination at home. Not only does it help the Veterinary team, but it can also help your feline remain calm and relaxed during routine veterinary examinations.
Grooming and Hygiene
What to do, how to do it, and why it must be done… we explain the avenues for grooming and hygiene your cat needs. No, cat’s do not just take care of it themselves. They do need our help to remain happy and healthy. We review healthy habits like brushing, bathing, cleaning teeth, and nail trims to help you avoid costly veterinary or grooming bills in the future.
